The Info Hub is a friendly space where you can talk to someone in person about some of the services and activities available in your community
If you’re finding it difficult to access this information online we can help guide you, access online services and print off information you might want to take home with you

The Warm Home Check Service
+ What is the Warm Home Check Service?
This free service for East Sussex residents offers telephone advice for anyone struggling to afford to keep warm at home, with money-saving advice and tips on how to stay warm for less. It also provides eligible households with a holistic home energy efficiency assessment. This could include;
1 Advice on how best to keep your home warm and reduce energy costs
2 Advice on financial support available to help with heating costs
3 Small home improvement measures such as pipe insulation, draught-proofing or boiler service
+ Who can apply for a free home visit?
For the home visit element of the service you need to:
Own your own property or rent it privately in East Sussex (the owner’s permission may be needed before improvement works can take place)
AND
either be on a low income* and be living with a long term condition or a disability, or; be receiving one of the following benefits: Child Tax Credit, Working Tax Credit, Universal Credit, Pension Guarantee Credit and/or Pension Savings Credit, Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA), Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).

Arts on Prescription provides creative activities, reminiscence and confidence building workshops designed to enhance mental health, wellbeing and promote social engagement

+ Age-Friendly Communities
Age-friendly communities is a concept developed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in 2006 with already over 800 members worldwide.
In an Age-friendly community, services, local groups, businesses and residents all work together to identify and make the necessary changes in both the physical and social environment to support and enable older people to lead healthy and active lives.

Health and Well-being hubs offer activities linked to the 5 Ways to Well-being
1 Connect
Weekly drop in and chat sessions and peer support groups for children and young people
2 Be Active
Dance, martial arts and exercise classes
3 Keep Learning Family and community learning aswell as accredited courses in childcare, teaching assistant course, employability skills and cookery
4 Give to Others
A range of volunteering opportunities across the organisation including adult learning support, early years, children and young people peer support groups
5 Take Notice
All activity supports people to be in the moment and enjoy what is going on around them with opportunities to share experiences and learn from each other.

Get Chatting
Get Chatting is a fortnightly social event for anybody that fancies a chin wag and a cuppa
Every other Wednesday between 2 and 4pm we meet in a local cafe in Hastings
