January’22 Newsletter

Well we’ve weathered another year of stuff and things, me hearties and we’ve all done really well at coping with the flotsam and jetsam thrown at us, no matter how fishy! So good for you and thank you to all those that have supported the good ship HEART. Let’s drop the nautical nonsense and tell you about what’s going on…

Exciting news, HEART’s joint project with Citizens Advice 1066 to support people being discharged from the Conquest Hospital has been awarded its funding from NHS Charities Together of £65k over two years. Making sure people have a safe and comfortable recovery at home by giving them the extra support they might need to regain their independence, health and well-being.  We’re super happy to be in partnership with the CAB 1066, we couldn’t be bigger fans of the work they already do in Hastings.

Education Futures Trust have launched a new project to get food into the mouths of hungry schoolchildren - with help from you, our HEART volunteers. This includes putting together food boxes, delivering them to schools and generally being helpful –find out more or join up by clicking HERE.

2022 will see HEART launching projects that help connect people up and get chatting. It’s been hard to get back out there after the last two years and we know that loneliness is something that can affect us all at some point in our lives. Some seaside fun might be the tonic we all need. Don’t groan.

Hastings’ Holocaust Memorial Day 2022 is happening online this year, to bypass the uncertainty of Covid -  including live broadcasts from the Acromax Performance Group, St Richard’s College Choir and Orchestra, and the Bader International Study Centre Chamber Choir.

Starting at 10:30 on Saturday 29th via Zoom – Join the meeting using these details: Meeting ID: 986 9331 3761 Passcode: 123456
